        I have always been too scared to bleach my hair, just because it seems to be so permanent. Even though I know its not, it would grow out eventually, but to have to live with a bad decision for so long is frightening for me. On the contrary it was something I definitely wanted to experiment with. Lucky for me, my sisters where braver than I was, and let me experiment on their hair. The first time was a definite fail, I tried to give my older sister highlights. She didn’t let me take pictures because it was so bad.  She later went to a professional that fixed it for her.

Years later, my little sister was brave enough to let me try on her hair. She was smart though, she just let me bleach the tips, so if it turned out bad she could just chop it off.  I did a much better job this time. All I did was braid her hair and dip the bottom of the hair in the hair bleach. We used the Splat Multi color streaking kit, so that she could also change the color later if she wanted. This is how it looked after the bleach:

After the bleach, she chose to dye the tips using the red dye. It turned out great, she loved it.

Under different lighting it actually looked purple. which was't really a bad thing, she still liked it.

If I ever did decide to dye my own hair I would probably go with either red or purple to be on the safe side, but I’m in love with how teal looks in black hair. If only I could get my hair to look like this:

    I have colored my hair in the past but without the bleach.  So my hair would be shades of red or purple (or both)  in the sun. One time I forgot that I had used mahogany in my hair, and went over it with burgundy instead. So it looked reddish from some angles and purplish from others.  I loved it, because it kept people guessing.
